Highgate Harriers combined events for 11 year old's up to and including 17', performed solidly in the Middlesex Young Athletes League at Hendon last Saturday, the 22nd of July. Shaftesbury Barnet lead the points with 91 and Highgate Harriers are 5th of the 10 clubs with 61 points. An Under 17 Gabrielle Johnson won two events in her age group, She threw the javelin 19'02 & won the long jump with 4'99 Another Under 17 Adesola Ayodeji was a winner in the hammer with 26:15 Under 15 athlete Elsa Shabani did a good shot put with 11:22.
Amani Osman an Under 13 athlete jumped 1.35 in the high jump. Like the others a winner again. Another Under 13 who won was Idriss Mariche, who threw the javelin 26'34
This may all prove that Highgate who have few senior field events exponents could be in for a good surprise in future years!
