She admitted that Naomi Taschmowitz did a good pace making job, up till 7k. Naomi has talent herself and, was sixth in the National cross country at Parliament Hill Fields this year. Going on from that Bethanie, said “As soon as she went I thought I have got to go for it,”
Bethanie Murray improved her 10k time from 36:13.39 to 35:18.71 (Of  2017).’

Looking back, Bethanie was 2nd in the Oxford v Cambridge Varsity cross country match at Wimbledon in 2016, 3 seconds behind the winner. and, in December 2017 she was 38th in the European Championships ‘Under’ 23’ race.
So with that in mind, it was not surprising she said ‘I am a cross-country runner at heart but, I thought I would give track a go. I started my running at Oxford University at 18 and now I am 22.
Oxford did me well to get into running. I had been studying chemistry at Oxford. Then I joined Thames Hare & Hounds running club.’
‘Tonight  was a fun race. I could hear, when I was in the back straight the commentary by Andy Hobdel encouraging me.”

The first 4 out of 17 starters did personal best times 1. Bethanie Murray (TH &H) 35:18.71; 2 Hannah Oldroyd (Saltaire Striders) 35:42.01; 3 Chloe Richardson (Birchfield AC- where her coach is from.The famous Peter Stewart, once AAA’ 1500 Champion 1972 and European 3000m indoor Champion in 1971) 36:02.57; 4 Sarah Lowery (Rotherham) 36:37.21.
