All over 50-year old runners from Highgate Harriers were well up the field in the North London Cross Country Championships at Uxbridge on Saturday 30 October. Alex Davidson an 'over 55' athlete was the first Highgate man home in 36th place; Davidson was previously an Over 40 and Over 50 Middlesex Cross Country Champion. He was followed in by Joseph Lowe (V50) in 58th with John O'Shea (V55) in 84th and Club President Chris Bailey (V55) in 85th. The winner was non-vet and established County runner, Rob Thompson of Hillingdon AC.
In the Last Friday in the Month Serpentine 5k on 29th October, 5th of 147 runners was ex-Highgate runner and first vet over 40 Andrew Aitken in 16.52. Highgate's Jemima Storey was the 3rd woman home in 20:10 and 15th overall was Hanry Heatherwich-Lammers in 17.46.
Highgate Harriers will be out in force in the Start Fitness Metropolitan League cross country (Event 2) on the 13th of November at Welwyn Garden City’s Stanborough Park.
