Highgate Harriers senior men were ninth of 200 club teams in the National Cross Country Relay, at Berry Park Mansfield, 5th November. Nobody ran badly but there were so many on the first leg, Highgate's stalwart Robel Bahelbi found it quite difficult to get near the front and finished in 38th, in the good time of 16:12. William Broom ran like a rocket on Guy Fawkes Day and blazed through to 10th on Leg 2, in 15:34. Pete Chambers was only one place back, coming in 11th in 16:24 and on the last leg Alex Lepretre ran the good time of 15:54 for ninth place. The team clocked 1:04.06 behind winners Leeds City AC 1:01.29, but ahead of fancied team Bedford & County AC and a long way ahead of City of Norwich.
