One of Highgate's class team runners Daniel Lewis, ran 14:43.60 in the 'Come Back 5k' on the road at Battersea on Friday and Mattias Barnard did a personal best of 16;13.62 the same day. As an Over 45 runner, Mark Taylor (M45) was 4th of 175 in the Serpentine RC Last Friday in the Month 5k in 16:44.
Talking of fast men Shaftesbury's Phil Crout ran 14:43.60 to be the fastest 5k track runner in the Highgate Harriers successful Open Meeting on the 26th of April.
Amongst the good performances that evening were Alex Mulvihill doing a 4:17.6 personal best. Daniel Tombor did a personal best of 4:43.4 for 1500m as an Under17 runner. Also on Wednesday at Parliament Hill Fields track in the Open Personal Best times were were achieved by ; Joseph Drinkell (U17) 4:47.6; Alex Pettican (U13) 5:34.0. Ben Harries ran a personal best time of 17:01.7 in a large field of 5k runners.
An eye catching personal best was done in the 100m by Highgate Under 15 Bradley Baka who did 12.3! Arnie Rosenthal. coached by ex-Olympian Greg Richards, threw the discus 39'56 and sent the shot out to 11.49. Over 70 field events exponent Tony Richards still shines with a 32'85 discus and 10.79 shot
Louis Nuthall, an under 17 athlete jumped 1'70 m.
