Terry Fawden won the Middlesex cross country Championships senior race, at Berkley Fields Greenford on Saturday, 6th of January, over glue like mud all through the course . Fawden has now won every age group Middlesex cross-country Championships, at some stage, since he was 14! He went away from Victoria Park's international steeplechaser Luca Minaie, after the first of 4 laps and, never looked like giving up his lead after that. Highgate's Rob Wilson, was 3rd for the last lap but, with a mile to go, had one of his shoes torn in half by the heavy mud but, still hung on well to his position out of the 133 finishers. Highgate's valiant men that finished in 4th scoring position behind TVH. They were 1 Terry Fawden, who is studying for a PHd in elecronics at Cambrdge University 41:07; 3 Robert Wilson 42:12; 20; Danny Brewer 45:58; 30 Alex Burns 47:58; 58 Alex Davidson 51:59; 69 Joseph Lowe 5402; 101 Mark Watson 60:08; 199 Dave Sutherland 61:22 and 122 field events exponent was James Rossiter 66:16.
The first Under 17 runner in the Championship was Thomas Chadwick 20:18; 5th Felix Kent 21:13; 6 Liam Bailey 21:43; . Those 3 were the 1st club team with three to score with 12 points, ahead of Harrow and Shaftesbury Barnet. In the Under 20 Womens race Highgate's Lauren Russell was a commanding winner. In the Under 20 Boys Highgate were 2nd team - 3rd Monte Watson; 4th Luc Porter 4th; 23rd Jack Bailey.
Louise Faherty & Natash Cendrowicz were 19th and 20th respectively out of 86 in the women's Championship
