Highgate Harriers have now been top of the Metropolitan League 4 times out of 4 this season, with the final 5th one at Trent Park on the 10th of February. Out out gf the 23 or so clubs' the scores on Saturday 13th of January were 1 Highgate Harriers 1451; 2 Victoria Park & Towser Hamlets 1399 and London Heathside 1341. Despite the cold weather, the undulating course at Stanborough Park and no trains going from London to Welwyn Garden City! On the day' 379 finished the race. After the start, within 100metres Oscar Bell of Herts Phoenix went into the lead followed by Roger Poolman of Highgate Harriers. It was on the third lap that Poolman used his quick brain to move well on the hill and, come home a good winner in 25:45.

In the Under 17/`15 race Chas Kent came 5th of 78 runners in 14:31. That was won by Luke Dunham of Herts Phoenix in 14:15.
178 took part in the womens' race won by ex-Nationa[ Champion Liz Janes (preveiously Hall) in 30:10. Out of 178 runners the Highgate Ladies in the first 60 were 15 Emma Butcher 33:27; 18 Nicola Edmunds; 33:55; 38 Lisa Wenninger 35:28; 53 Emma Young 31:14 and 58 Natasha Cendrowicz (2nd W50 overall) 36:28.
