In the South of England Championship 12 stage road relay at Milton Keynes on the 24th of March, Highgate Harriers senior Men's 'A' team went into the lead with Alex Lepretre on Stage 5 and Highgate held on to that position right through the next seven stages, to come through the finishing line victorious.
As 25 of the clubs, in each Area, qualify for the National Road relay, Highgate's 'B' team, who came 15th were well clear of the cut off point, out of the 45 finishing club teams, with the help of their team organiser Ben Pochee. Highgate should have a good chance of medals on the 6th of April in the National event at Sutton Park; near Birmingham. Central AC the strong team from Scotland don't, obviously, qualify for the English Championship that Highgate won last year. However the club will have some tough opposition from Leeds City, the Northern Champions and the Midland winners Western Tempo plus, possibly Kent AC but medals should come their way!
