Sawam Barwal from India, who works in the Indian Army and is 26 years old, was 3rd in the Asian half-marathon Championships in 1:04.30. In the ’C’ race at Parliament Hill track, he looked very smooth in his all black kit as he went away from his nearest challenger, after being in a group, then started to go clear for the last half a dozen laps. Barwal started running in 2014 . About the race he said “ A little bit hard in the second half. There had been a group with me and we were running around 28:10 pace. ‘ I was a little bit tired, with all the all the traveling. Bangalore to Doha and Doha to London. He was running well in the last part of the race despite the hamstrings being a bit tight”.
