Certainly Ben Pochee's promotion, for the 10th year, was  a great success on the 18th of May, as crowds of onlookers thronged the bank  at Parliament Hill's new track. In the Men's race won by Mohammed Ismael of Djubuti in 27:22.28 with England's Patrick Dever  2nd in 27:23.68. Last Years' winner Paul Chelimo, who was 4th in 27:34.04, could rest on his laurels of last year, when he set an outstanding track record of 27;12.04.

To many the most exciting race was the women's 'A' Final which was y closely fought through out by a group most of the way. It was won by d Megan Keith, who had come down from Inverness in Scotland and eventually won in 31:02 and the next British runner out of 27 starters was previous winner, Jessica Warner Judd in 9th place out of 31 runners in 31:36.37.

For Highgate Harriers point of view it was the youngsters who did very well in the 800 races. They all did Personal Beat times. They included in the Under 13' race Alex Pettican 2:29.71 & Jack Cobbold 2:36.09 and in the Under 15's it was Arjuna Pflug 2:08.13 & for the girls, Sonny Allen in 2:18.92.    

To add something here 'The weather forecast' on the radio and television on had stressed rain but, not a drop fell in the warm day and evening on Hampstead Heath.
