The Highgate composite team, came into the match in Southern League Division 3 North London with 277 points with Watford on Harriers on 338 points in the lead but, on Saturday the 15th of June, Highgate/Mornington Chasers were the winners of the second match, with 335 points with Watford AC on 324 points, with the following teams behind that 277 for Serpentine RC; 199 Enfield Haringey 198, Newham and Essex Ladies 194 and Orion & Loughton AC176. There were a few heavy downpours with thunder and lightning in the day but, it did not mar the friendly competition.

Two people who stood out with 'Class  performances' were Charley Button, who won the high jump with 1'86 and the 110 hurdles against a strong cross-wind, in 20.39;and he was 2nd in the triple jump with 11'43.

Backing up Button and winning the 'B' high jump was Under 17 year old Louis Nutall who jumped 1'80m.  Harvey Weinberger  won the the 400 in a personal best time of 51.32. Middlesex Champion Under 20' Joseph Hayes, was 2nd in the 800 in 2:00.42 'A' and Under 23 runner Flurry Grierson, who was in the 12 stage team 3rd in the National road relay, came 2nd in the 1500 in 4:06.5 and that good junior Felix Kent was 2nd in the 'B; 800 in 2:06.95.

Two local ladies did a good double act in  winning the 5000m. In the 'A' 'Sonnerby Handor in 19:15.28 & in the B'' Mornington Chaser Jamima Mkaronides in 19:56,85. Highgate's Sean Ocena-Engina (Under17) won the long jump with 5.90, he is coached by Marius Guei.

Talking about other athletes Terry Fawden Highgate's Middlesex cross-country Champion recently was out running a fast 1500m in 3:53.40 in the Hercules Festival night on the 29th of May.
