Athletics continues in the clubs, despite many glued to the box in an Olympic week.
On the 3rd of August, In the Hercules & Wimbledon Festival of 5k's' with 10 races in the evening, two Highgate runners stood out Alex Jackson in Race 5 ran a personal best time of 15:41.8, to win his race outright and, improved on his personal best time of of 15:45.56 that he did in 2022 with time of 15:41.87.
Another noteworthy personal best time, was by James Carty, who was 6th of 26 in Race 4 in a time of 16:13.29, improving radically on his best time of 17:05.18 he did in 2022.
Rebecca Johnson. can always be relied upon for a good result and ran 16:05.51 in Race 5. Highgate's Ashley Scott-Wilson was in
action doing 17:45 in Race 2.
