It was a delight to attend the South of England Officials Association annual conference where the inaugural Peter Lee bursaries were awarded to support officials development. Our own Alima Diabate received the award for Starter/Starter's Assistant. This includes mentoring from a top Starter and gaining experience at a high level event, plus some funding for equipment. Many congratulations to Alima, who is also a sprints coach, committee member and past President, and recently achieved Level 2 as a Field Judge. We are grateful to Alima for supporting the Club in such a variety of ways, and look forward to seeing her wielding a starter's pistol on the track soon.
