Highgate Harriers Men were beaten by Victoria Park & Tower Hamlets on the 12th of October for the top spot in the first Metropolitan cross country league of the season, which was the first league match at Woodford but came back with a vengance at Greenford, on the 9th of November. In the second of five matches placing their first team of 12 within the first 33 men home, out of 447 runners. The first 4 teams of 50 club teams now read: 1 Highgate Harriers 2034; 2 Victoria Park & TH 1893; 3 Highgate 'B' team 1485 and 4 London Heathside 1439.
The Highgate 'A' team in order of finishing were 1 Jacob Allen (24:2.80), 2 Flurry Grierson (24:08.39), 3 Alex Lapretre. The rest of the delectable dozen were Sam Jinks; Joe Young; Harry Allen; Pete Chambers; David Lewes; Sean Renfer; Joachim Tenshott; Lewis Greaves & Charlie Haywood.
Hannah Viner was back running a league race and won handsomely in a 29:17.23. Of the 200 finishers several Highgate  runners were well up taking the team up to 4th behind leaders TVH. 17th was Ashley-Scott Wilson 31:162. 29 Libby Omett 31:5.7 . 34 Karina Thornton 32.18.49, 63 Louise Faherty (w45)0, 67 Natasha Cendrowicz (W50) 35:13. 52. Arjuna Pflug followed up his win at Woodford being first boy Under 15  with another win in his category.
