  • Another great year - over 40 runners took part - ready to endeavour to keep to the route - face the mud and generally thoroughly enjoy the festive joyful spirit of the event.
  • This race was started many years ago by my father Edward Fosbrook who was a life long member of Highgate Harriers as a race with his friends at the club. It has now been going for decades and brings together families as part of their own annual tradition and also different generations running together.
  • We all had a good time - the weather was mild - the gifts that people donated as prizes were superb - and were much appreciated by everyone.
  • The results were as follows:
  1. Thomas Chadwick 17.23
  2. Joseph Hayes 17.24

  • Note some of the places finished together.
  • Recognition and a big thank you go to everyone who helped co-ordinate set up and run the event including Graham Norris, Andy Hickson timekeeper, Jen Lovell-Hickson collecting data and recording results and Andrew Radwell who filmed some very fast finishes and helped with the results. Kate Jenrick who co-ordinated the preparation of the equipment we needed. Peter Laing who read out the final places from first to last so that each person could select a prize. As well as Adrian Laing who currently holds the record of 40 Boxing Day races, drove for hours and with Peter set up the flags.
  • This is an annual event and if you could not make it this year - then we hope to see you there in 2025.
  • A very Happy New Year to you all.
